Christopher Kata
Founder and President

Christopher has a B.Des in Environment Planning from The
Nova Scotia College of Art & Design. While completing
his degree he developed a passion for the Internet in it's
early days and it's ability to allow average people and
businesses to easily and cost effectively publish information
to the world and market their services.
After finishing his degree Chris decided to work full time
in the Internet space and soon became a Sales Engineer for
an e-Commerce software company called The Vision Factory
using their rapid application development software called
Cat@log in their Toronto office. During his time with The
Vision Factory Chris worked on developing e-Commerce applications
and promoted the companies rapid application development
software through North American Trade Shows.
Chris then spent a short period of time with IBM
before joining Whitecap
Canada Inc. in 1998 as the companies third employee
and first solution architect and application developer.
For the next 8 years Chris played an integral role in developing
the companies skills, process and assisted it's growth to
over twenty people eventually becoming an equity partner.
It is with Whitecap Canada Inc. that Chris honed his skills
and experience as a solution architect, project manager
and eventually as an Innovator in the newly emerging "creative
economy".
In early 2006 Chris decided to pursue his growing interests
as an Innovator and the creative
economy and his desires to start his own firm which
he called Initi8!
Through Initi8 Chris has developed strong partnerships
with companies like Whitecap
Canada Inc., Spark Internet Marketing , Data
Pro For Business, Marketing
Leads Inc., and a host of other competent developers
and systems providers. Initi8 brings these talented companies
together in a well orchestrated and managed way to deliver
the best possible services it's customers while making the
entire process easy, hassle free and most importantly -
affordable!
